Do Hampton Manor have a license for civil ceremonies?

Ask any West Midlands wedding photographer and they’ll tell you that shooting wedding photography at Hampton Manor is always a treat.  This Neo-Tudor gothic style Manor House in the pretty village of Hampton in Arden is architecturally stunning.  Situated in 45 acres of gardens and parklands it offers a modern twist to the traditional country house experience. Rich in history, the first bride to be married there was Mathilde de l’Aigle back in the 12th century.  A wedding that would have been a far cry from the relaxed charm of weddings held there today.

So if you’re wondering whether you should book Hampton Manor for your wedding then read on.  Here’s a few questions that you may want answers to:

Do Hampton Manor have a license for civil ceremonies?

Yes, Hampton Manor do have a license to hold civil ceremonies and they take place in the estate’s rustic barn ‘The Birches’.  Named after its location nestled in the silver birches of the hotel’s 45-acre estate.  This beautiful barn style building has modern chandeliers, timber floors and silver birch wallpaper.  It is a gorgeous space for a wedding ceremony.

If you’d prefer an outdoor ceremony this is something that the team at Hampton Manor can accommodate as well.

If a church wedding is your thing the steepled village church which adjoins the estate welcomes couples from outside the community to marry there.  To get to the church you follow a pretty woodland path.  The stroll to get married and then back again would make a sweet addition to your wedding day.

Where do we enjoy reception drinks?

The courtyard at Hampton Manor is the perfect space for a drinks reception.  Light and airy (us West Midlands wedding photographers are total geeks when it comes to talking about light!) the courtyard’s glass roofed atrium and contemporary style make it seamlessly blend inside and outside space.  It’s also a great space to enjoy fireworks from.

I’ve heard the food at the restaurant is amazing. Will it be just as good at my wedding?

Of course, it will.  Your guests will be talking about the food they ate at your wedding long after the day.  It’s not every wedding venue that gets to boast that it has a Michelin star restaurant on site.  The talented chef’s at Hampton Manor will work with you to create a bespoke wedding menu and you will have the peace of mind of knowing that they are the very best at what they do!

Is there accommodation for my guests to stay over?

There are 15 individually designed bedrooms and each are named after someone who once owned the estate (there’s everything there from queen’s to musicians) Three of the rooms are large suites packed with little extras to make the stay all the more luxurious.   Alternatively, you can book Manor Cottage.  A pretty and luxuriously comfortable country cottage situated in the walled garden that sleeps 4-8 adults.

How do I choose a Hampton Manor wedding photographer?

Firstly, I’ll say what I’d say to all brides and grooms.  Choose a photographer, firstly by their portfolio and examples of previous work, and secondly by their personality, as your wedding photographer will be like another guest at your special day. Check out their website.  Do you like their style of photography?  Have they shot wedding photography at Hampton Manor before?  Are there testimonials from happy clients on their website?  A professional photographer will not only have all the right equipment, they’ll have back up equipment as well.  There will be a contract to protect you and you’ll be able to relax knowing you’re in safe and experienced hands.  When it comes to shooting wedding photography at Hampton Manor if they haven’t shot weddings there before ask them if they intend to visit the venue before your wedding day.  If you’re someone who hates having your photograph taken, I recommend you book a pre-wedding or engagement shoot with them so that you can all get used to each other before the wedding day.

I’ll conclude this blog by telling you what I like about shooting wedding photography at Hampton Manor.  And whilst of course I like all the photographer type things like the venue being stunning, the grounds being beautiful, the light being perfect etc… what I like most is the vibe.  I love the way that the team running Hampton Manor have put a modern twist on the country house experience.  Taking out all of the stuffiness and replacing it with pure laidback relaxation.  Everything that a visit to a country house should be.  And it truly is one of the most impressive venues I’ve had the pleasure to photograph.
