Moxhull Hall Wedding Photography

Moxhull Hall in the village of Wishaw (just 3 miles from Sutton Coldfield) is a gorgeous Victorian mansion sitting in 8 acres of dreamy landscaped gardens.  Privately owned, the building beautifully blends original grandeur and period features alongside modern design and comfort.  Gary and the team at Moxhull Hall are all about the customer experience so expect a warm welcome as soon as you walk through the door.  Which for me is a fantastic way to start a long day of Moxhull Hall wedding photography.

If you’re thinking about booking your wedding at Moxhull Hall or if you’re looking for a wedding photographer for your Moxhull Hall wedding the read on.  I’m going to answer a few questions for you about this wonderful West Midlands wedding venue.

Can I have outdoor wedding at Moxhull Hall?

Outdoor ceremonies and civil partnerships can be held in Moxhull Hall’s beautiful gardens and grounds during March to October.  You can choose Calliope’s garden, which has a gazebo with stunning views.  Set in the woodlands it always offers me a magical background when photographing my brides and grooms.  Or, new for this year, you can hold your ceremony in the wonderful ‘secret garden’.

Alternatively, you can marry in the main house in the stunning oak-panelled Grove Room.  With stunning views of the grounds and roaring fire, it makes a fantastic room for a cosy winter wedding.

Can I get ready at Moxhull Hall?

When you book a wedding at Moxhull Hall the 20 luxurious bedrooms are automatically reserved for you for your guests to use.  In addition to this you get the beautiful custom-built bridal suite free of charge.  It’s stylish and comfortable and has lots of natural light, which is fantastic for my bridal preparation shots. West Midlands wedding photographers are obsessed with natural light! It’s also spacious so there’s plenty of room for your bridal party, your hairdresser and makeup artist and the bubbly!

My wedding is going to be really big/really small. Can Moxhull Hall accommodate it?

One of the many things I love about taking Moxhull Hall wedding photography is seeing how they can so easily accommodate all weddings regardless of size.  For smaller more intimate weddings and evening receptions you can enjoy a sit-down meal in the main house.  There are several charming rooms just packed with original features and comfort that are perfect for smaller weddings.

For medium size weddings of up to 100 guests, the hall has recently undergone a renovation. It’s the perfect space for a wedding reception.

You can have your wedding breakfast and evening reception in our luxury marquee within the grounds.  Fitted with rich ivory fabrics with a starlit ceiling it is a luxurious space ideal for large celebrations.  So Moxhull Hall is perfect for big weddings such as Asian and fusion weddings.

Whichever you choose your space will be decorated with flowers, decorations and favours of your choosing.  You work with the wedding team at Moxhull Hall to create a space that is personal to you.

I visited Moxhull Hall a while ago, is there anything new?

As well as now offering outdoor weddings in the beautiful ‘secret garden’ Moxhull Hall recently refurbished their light-filled orangery creating a really romantic atmosphere.  Two of the main rooms in the house have been merged together, allowing you have a larger wedding service in the main house. The large room can now accommodate up to 100 guests.

The two cottages in the grounds of Moxhull Hall have recently been renovated so can provide additional accommodation for your guests.

Get along to Moxhull Hall and take a look for yourself.  If you’re anything like me you don’t need much of an excuse to head back to Moxhull Hall for a nosey around!

How do I choose someone to shoot my Moxhull Hall wedding photography?

Choose a photographer, firstly by their portfolio and examples of previous work, and secondly by their personality, as your wedding photographer will be like another guest at your special day. Check out their website.  Do you like their style of photography?  Have they provided Moxhull Hall wedding photography to other clients before?  Are there testimonials from happy clients on their website?  Will they allow you to speak to their previous clients?  A professional photographer will not only have all the right equipment, they’ll have back up equipment as well.  There will be a contract to protect you, you’ll be able to relax knowing you’re in safe and experienced hands.

When it comes to shooting Moxhull Hall wedding photography, if they haven’t shot weddings there before ask them if they intend to visit the venue before the wedding. If you’re someone who hates having your photograph taken, I recommend you book a pre-wedding or engagement shoot with them. It’s a great way you can all get used to each other before the wedding day.

So that concludes my blog about weddings at Moxhull Hall.  I hope it has been helpful.  If you’re currently planning your wedding and are looking to book a West Midlands wedding photographer then get in touch.
